Not every inquiry requires a new component. Depending on the condition of the roller body, documentation, wall thickness and the roller’s function in the machine, we select the appropriate solution: manufacturing a new roller, reconditioning the existing cylinder or reconstructing its geometry from the existing roller.

The new roller, according to the documentation

We manufacture new heating or cooling rollers based on the customer’s technical drawing. The documentation should specify the dimensions, installation method, work surface requirements, and details regarding the internal layout.

Reconditioning of an existing cylinder

What Is the Hardness of Hard Chrome on a Roller?
Hard chrome has a hardness of 850–1,200 HV. For a thin chrome coating, the HV scale is appropriate because an HRC measurement may produce a misleading result related to the substrate rather than the coating itself.
Up to What Temperature Can Hard Chrome Operate?
Hard chrome retains its full properties up to approximately 200°C. Operation at temperatures up to approximately 400°C is possible, but with a gradual decrease in coating hardness. The operating temperature must therefore always be considered in relation to the specific application, working medium and process requirements..
Does a chrome-plated surface protect against corrosion?
Hard chrome can help protect the surface, but it does not provide unconditional corrosion protection. If the coating is damaged, aggressive agents may reach the substrate and initiate corrosion beneath the coating.
